I bought the car in January of 2018. I dealt mainly with the son in law. The car had belonged to her late husband. He bought the car in the mid 1980's. Notice the Texas Sesquicentennial license plate. Unfortunately, he passed away from cancer in 1993. His widow moved the car at least three times after his death. She always kept it garaged. It was not in great shape, but structurally there was no rust. Notice it had a tan interior. She was selling this house and decided it was time to stop towing the old Lotus around. They originally advertised it as a 1979 Lotus Esprit. That would have been an S2 or maybe S2.2, but I noticed the World Champions badge on the rear hatch ended in 1973. Lotus won the 1978 F1 World Championship (with Mario Andretti) so I immediately knew it wasn't a 1979 car. It turned out to be a 1977 Esprit S1, specifically chassis number 351H.
